While is home is considered to be the safest place to be while we all attempt to protect ourselves from this pandemic that causes daily devastation. While many are forced to be isolated with their abusers during the COVID-19 this can be a dangerous and uncertain time for those been abused. Because we must limit our social interaction this is has made it difficult or almost impossible for victims of DV to seek outside counseling, visit friends or do something as finding a few moments of relief by running errands.

Because this pandemic has caused many the loss employment this in turn causes more tensions at home which leads to an uptick in abuse. Because abusers often have the need to isolate those they abuse this virus gives them all the opportunities to abuse and never be discovered.

In these weeks of this pandemic the rate of domestic violence has increased. In communities that have issued stay at home orders there has been an increase in the reporting of the cases of domestic abuse.
